#BLOGHER17

I was the creative vision for #BlogHer17, the largest conference for women content creators. It was my responsibility to direct the strategic design of the three-day event, from concept to execution. The inspiration behind the visual narrative was to be amusing but polished, whimsical yet sophisticated. The idea was that — being in Florida — we would incorporate some iconic Floridan elements, using them interchangeably to give us the flexibility to keep the branding fresh during the nine months from announcement to event.

I created and oversaw the adherence of the conference design guidelines, ensuring all intersecting design projects (includingweb, video, environmental, and print) aligned with the overall conference identity. This applied not only to my internal team of designers, but also with elite brands such as Disney, MailChimp, Vagisil, and Hilton.

This influence resulted in a high-quality event that was featured in Forbes, ESPN, CBS, and Yahoo.

Named a top conference by Forbes , USA Today , and Essence , #BlogHer17 is the biggest event for women online content creators, and it was my responsibility to visually bring this event to life. This day that we live in — of emotion and activism — people are responding to colors and graphics that are dynamic and loud. So keeping on trend with the summer of tropical kitsch (flamingos and pineapples were king — and we were in Florida after all) yet still staying on brand, the inspiration behind this look was to be amusing but polished, whimsical yet sophisticated. And the idea behind having multiple design elements was that we could use all of the them interchangeably, giving us the flexibility to keep the branding fresh during the nine months from announcement to event. From ads (both print and digital) and social media campaigns leading up to the event, to the welcome signs at hotel registration, to the bright and bold main stage, I led a team of designers to flawless execution. The consistent (and delightful!) visual narrative resulted in an event that was covered by Forbes , ESPN , E! , Us , and more.
