Named a top conference by Forbes, USA Today, and Essence, #BlogHer17 is the biggest event for women online content creators, and it was my responsibility to visually bring this event to life. This day that we live in — of emotion and activism — people are responding to colors and graphics that are dynamic and loud. So keeping on trend with the summer of tropical kitsch (flamingos and pineapples were king — and we were in Florida after all) yet still staying on brand, the inspiration behind this look was to be amusing but polished, whimsical yet sophisticated. And the idea behind having multiple design elements was that we could use all of the them interchangeably, giving us the flexibility to keep the branding fresh during the nine months from announcement to event.
From ads (both print and digital) and social media campaigns leading up to the event, to the welcome signs at hotel registration, to the bright and bold main stage, I led a team of designers to flawless execution. The consistent (and delightful!) visual narrative resulted in an event that was covered by Forbes, ESPN, E!, Us, and more.
