I became involved with Kids & Art through Purvi Shah who was my Senior Portfolio instructor at Academy of Art University, and then completely by chance, my colleague at BlogHer. I think there are certain people that are just destined to be a part of our lives, and I know Purvi was meant to be in mine. When she left BlogHer to focus on Kids & Art full-time, I didn’t hesitate when given the opportunity to work with her again. I started volunteering for Kids & Art in 2014, and continue to offer my design services for various marketing and fundraising events.
As a mother of two, and someone who’s family has been touched by cancer, I can’t express how fulfilling it has been to be able to help bring the vision of Kids & Art to life. During their annual cornerstone fundraising event — with all the amazing art work around us, and all the radiant smiles — my husband turned to me and said, “You have to keep doing this". And I do. I do have to keep doing this.
